The United Nations Human Rights Council is a United Nations depended organization created the 15th of March of 2006 as a replacement of the Human Rights Commission, which was very questioned for supporting and including nations who violated their own people's Human Rights.
This organism mission is to promote international policies that protect, promote and preserve human rights and human liberties. Furthermore, it is supposed to expose and debate situations and protocols that violate these rights. Since its creation, the HRC has been one of the main human rights-violations accuser. This is why many countries like Irak, Venezuela, Palaos, Cuba and Belarus, have voted several times to dissolve it.

PRESIDENT
My name is Santiago Bárcenas. I study at Colegio Británico de Cartagena, grade 12. This time it's one of my first as MUN president. This time I was very interested in the UNHCR committee. In itself Human rights are extremely fundamental to our society. Up to a point it maintains an equitable balance, although in many cases they are not fulfilled or regulated. That is what the committee is for, it is discussed, regulated, and attempts are made to provide solutions for these cases. For that reason I invite you to join my committee. We are going to discuss problematic issues in a global environment.
